Continued...DQ, Tailgate, AND A Sprinkle of Doc Martens

hey all!

these are the last of my pictures i wish to share...

...for now, haha.

so these are pictures from the tailgate!

usually the school-ran tailgates SUCK.

like, "hey I'm the priciapal-wanna hot dog?"

then you dance

and sit

and call it a night if you're not going to the game...

*yawn*

but THIS year,

they had

caramel apples,

chips and pretzels,

lemonade shakeups,

hot dogs,

hamburgers,

DJing from our radio station,

competions like hoola hooping and dance marathon,

charity money-rasing,

face painting,

and dressing up in a super hero theme for the game later on that night...

ALL of that AND the game for a measley $5!!!

i was blown-a-way.

it was SO much more fun than past tailgates though.

ESPECIALLY with Tracy T. there! She MADE the tailgate!

along with awesome Lindsay G.

they're both awesome!

loved it,

and the game.

never again will i stand with the juniors section though.

sooo irritating!

it was all fun though!

now about DQ :

i'm working two days next week!

my first job-i'm pretty optimistic,

but i guess that'll pass.

i don't know though,

it IS moolah!

i was told not to be discouraged

if the work becomes monotonous.

cleaning bathrooms, dipping dilly bars, putting ice cream sandwitches together...

but i'm pumped!

whoo-hoo!

Doc Martens:

now i KNOW i could get them cheaper if they were used...

but I wanna breathe life into them.

a new pair just screaming to be broken in.

and have a story to tell,

just like a diary...

...but w/shoes.

that's what i think will count in their long lives with me.

once i get my hands ont them!

Back on Track #1-Praying Mantis

i named him Casio,

due to his constant attacks to my camera he attempted

wheneve i flashed the camera in his face, hahaha!

isn't he tiny and cute?!

watching him hop onto my CASIO camera

(hence his name)

and seeing him follow my grandpa's bright orange shirt with his head!

get this:

he wouldn't get in the grass,

so i set him down into a bush

and the next day he was there!

and even the FOLLOWING night,

eating a fruit fly on the porch.

it was a fufilling moment

...moments, haha!

i just LOVE praying mantises!

and build up from there

but they didn't show up right.

Friday Night Lights and Such-To Be Continued...

there's been SO MUCH going on the past two to three days...

i have SO much to share!
i've been just jotting things down until i could find the TIME to talk about it.

...i still kinda can't,

because i have to upload my pictures from the camera

so you can be visually amazed while reading, haha.

so here's a quick recap of things i can remember but need pictures for until next time:

i got a job @ DQ-FINALLY A JOB,

the tiny praying mantis with lots of moxie that has STAYED by the house for three days straight,

our first homegame plus the BESt tailgate party by the school EVER,

this holiday's plans,

ummm...

i KNOW there's more...

i WILL remember.

until then, i'll write about things i DO have pictures for!

so yesterday was pretty flipping amazing.

but it's SUPER late...

should've BEEN in bed!

but i have a buttload of work to do.

i'll guess i'll just have to race through it all the rest of this week...

an econ test today, a HIGHLY detailed paper due thursday,

art project, art club entry project...

once friday comes along.

i'll be hyped for more than just the tailgate and 1st homegame...

What the Heck is a Hookah??

oh yeah,

P.S.- i found out that what the caterpillar smokes in cinderella is called a hookah!

some kids in my honors english class were talking about it.

and i was like, "is this some smoking craze??"

i googled it and found it.

i saw some kids on facebook use it.

apparentley a lot of people use it in my peer group.

well, @ least it's legal i guess...

i don't smoke,

but i found it intriguing, haha!

learned something new today.

what the hookah was and who uses it.

YES! I Like Yogurt!

so instead of talking about my blah monday,

where i did absolutely nothing productive...

i'm going to talk about yogurt instead.

believe it or not,

i'm one of those weirdos that wants to like to eat something

even though her tastebuds disagree with that particular food.

i don't know why, but when a certain food attracts me,

and i wanna eat it?

but i don't like it?

it'll frustrate me, haha!

i always think of yogurt being a healthly little snack...

but i've always HATED it.

i've tried and tried...

i just don't like it...

BUT, since i don't like fruit

(which sucks cause i also think it looks so neat when someone can bring in an orange or a bag of blueberries and just dig in to something so healthy and enjoy it so much!)

i have to @ least like yogurt.

i tried dannons...

...bleh.

then i got yoplait in harvest peach

and took it home and froze it.

it was delicious!

i'd perfer it creamy though, as opposed to ice-y.

it was good though.

and i looked on the site, and the cancer caps

(where you mail in the tops to donate cash for breast cancer?)

is coming up verry soon-sometime this fall.

i killed two birds with one stone!
ha!

i'm a champion!

now, i must go.

i need to get SOME work done!

as well as eating my kosher dog with chips and dip.

now, the dip i use is philly cream cheese called, "onions and chives"

it's SOOO good with ruffles!

nothing much happened...

i went to the mall looking like a bum.

cause i thought we were just going to my aunt's house.

got invited to my first slumber party in YEEEARS.

can't wait.

i believe it's next weekend.

i haven't hung out with friends in about a year or two.

and on friday my boyfriend's team won against several odds.

@ his first home game.

and it's with a top ranked school.

they're probably thinking, "gulp!"

oh, and i got glass stuck in my foot on friday as well.

i'm okay now of course.

it's all good.

then my mind's been racing.

okay,

otherwise, i didn't really get to much this weekend...

i got quite an arm workout earlier this week.

i decided to make alton brown's version of hollandaise sauce.

took about 30-45 minutes of nonstop stirring...

ugh!

then sawing in jewelry, grinding away @ my viola in orchestra...

so much tricep and bicep workouts!

i meant to write about how a few weekends ago i fed the ducks.

and how everyone should give it a go.

it's fun to watch the ducks,

most of the time i talk to them, haha!

WHY Did I Do It??

....

why in the WORLD did i try on those Dr. Martens??

we went to the mall saturday

and the ankle ones only came in black.

BUT, they had a 25% discount

and they fit like Cinderella's glass slipper...

...cept a lot more edgier, haha!

i reeeeally liked them though.

a-lot.

and the guy talking to me about them was really nice.

like talking to an old friend, haha!

told us how after the first akward day of wearing them, they felt wonderful

(says a co-worker of his due to he himself not wanting a pair).

or how his mom wants him to get a pair

and thinks it's because she wants him to live her hair metal days through him!

and trying to sell them to me saying that no one will mess with me with those boots on!

i did feel bad giving them back to him.

if i do ever get to buy them,

i'd really like to buy them from him.

i don't know why...

but i'd just feel better if i did.

i'm usually shy,

but like i said, talking to him was like talking to an old friend.

very comforting.

and knowing i bought them from someone that got so personal with the customer,

will make them that much more special during their extra durable years of life on my feet.

...but hey,

i might be wrong, could've been a marketing trick, haha!

either way, i still really want those Martens.

i want them now more than ever.

shoot, i'm even willing to get the black pair for now,

and save up for other colors later!

i also saw those AMAZING

cloud converse!

they were SO cute in person!

made me into a wild child inside my heart.

they're $40.

and usually i think that's waaay too much for a pair of chucks.

but those are special

AND needed.

SOO Much to Do...

i'm really diggin' these white Dr. Martens! i want a pair. i know they come in oodles of colors, but i'm just really attached to the white pair (then maybe i'll move in on yellow or lavender, haha).

it's a long process for me though-the only store that sells them is Journeys, and they just come in black and a taaaaall hot pink pair. so i'd have to try them on, then find SOMEONE willing to buy them on the dr. martens website (since barely anyone in my family trusts buying products through the internet).

*whew*

so i'll figure something out i guess someday...meanwhile, i need to find a way to get my ankle cowboy boots out of layaway (i found them @ TJ Maxx!). they're really cute...but the countdown starts now! they'll be let go and i'll have a fine by the 7th of september, ugh. i'll find a way with that too somehow...

let's see...STILL need to add WAY more songs to my mp3 player...gotta study the new japanese vocab, organize my photos on my flickr account...oh my brain is rushing!

i should go then, despite my love of blogging! i will return soon hopefully! since tomorrow's friday and all. BUT, i do have some catching up to do with some art classes-long term projects. AND my tryout assignment for artistically talented...i have to find 5 pieces of mine too!

Julie and Julia is My Life Model

i have just gotten home from seeing, "Julie and Julia".

and i must say it was humbling and colorful-

both literally and figuratively.

...made me hungry too, hahaha!

but everything about that movie was timeless.

EVERYTHING inspired me about that movie.

the way Julie and Julia dressed, their living abodes...

everything to me about that movie was precious.

not only that, but it had everything i could possibly love crammed into it.

blogging

food

cooking

humble living

creative writing

colors...

oh luscious love.

it makes you really think.

it was funny though because i love food and cooking,

and when they'd whip out cheese and bread,

i'd tell my boyfriend, "that brie and baguette!"

or the lobster bit, i told him, "watch, the lobsters are gonna 'scream' when they're put into the boiling water."

and he was stupified about how i knew all of this.

i was just like, "it's thanks to nutrition and my love of food." haha.

it was lovely though.

very funny, thought-provoking, and just plain lovely.

i'm definitely inspired.

haha, guess it was a calling-a sign of sorts.

for this film to come out on my birthday!

i wasted no time adding this movie in to my favorite movie vault.

it REALLY deserves that spot.

oh! also, it was too late and i'm broke anyway (WHY I NEED MONEY)

to buy food to start cooking after seeing, "Julie and Julia".

TOYS: Furby

i don't know how many people would deny it...

furbys were some creeper toys.

i had the all-white furby

loved it!

...until one day i slid it down the stairs

and it said, "ouch!"

...it NEVER had said, "ouch!" before...

i was on some, "I Love the 90s" group on facebook

and me and some people got ta talkin' about the furby's...odd ways.

someone even said they were just creeped out by it,

so they took it outside w/a lighter so they could burn it.

right when they held up the lighter to their furby,

he opened his eyes and said, "i love you. will you be my friend?"

that person dropped it and RAN!

hahahaahahahaa!

i LOVED it!

i tried it yesterday and it was wonderful.

thin mints are my favorite girl scout cookie.

and i've loved blizzard ever since i tasted one a few months ago...

so this was like, "BAM IN YO FACE!"

lovely!

i even dedicated this mint-colored font

to the thin mint blizzard.

oh dang...i'd LOVE another one right now...

i put the remaing bits of my blizzard from yesterday in the freezer

and woke up today to find that the ice cream wasn't creamy anymore

it was icey and flaky

bleh.

made me sad.

but i will continue to endulge myself in more blizzards to come!

This Is Getting Stupid...

so i was in school last year when i saw this.

haha, they're high tops i got a while ago.

i've gotten compliments on them.

but i haven't seen anyone else w/a pair like these which is awesome!

they're red with black and a few bright mustard yellow stripes.

pretty tight, huh?

these are the only real pair of chucks i own.

that's gonna have to change!

i have another pair of, "look-alikes"

but the soles are cream

and the shoe is this velvet-y pumpkin orange squares sewed together.

i'm gonna have to feature those sometime soon!

Movies! Movies! Movies!

okey dokey...i remember saying that i wanted to write about all the movies i wanted to see that were coming out this month-and there's A LOT!

like over to your left, "The Goods" looks so funny! i had to laugh-hard-when they sold a blind man a car. a movie on car dealers made into a comedy is something interesting and different! curious about that movie for sure!


also, i mustmustmust see, "Julie and Julia"! i love cooking, food, blogging and movies...what's not to love?!?!! and hearing about Julia Childs makes it seem like an inspirational film. aaaand it's based off a true story-epically awesome! truth behind a colorful story! cannot wait to see it!

MUST see, "PONYO" like i said before...LOVE those movies! i don't know why, but seeing the animation of that movie makes my heart skip a beat literally! so weird, but if not only my mind is telling me to see this movie, but my body as well, then for sure it's a must-see VERY soon!

"Paper Hearts" looks cute and interesting. gotta find out what theaters it plays in. ive heard lots of good about it though. verrry curious about that one...

and maybe: "Time Traveler's Wife" and "The Final Destination" (FINALLY!)...gotta see what the FINAL one is gonna be like. i wasn't too impressed w/the 3rd one. kinda sucked in my opinion. i liked number two's car crash the best!

first three days of senior year are over!

i had a rough time not being on blogger!

*sniff sniff*

but i managed by writing out TONS more post ideas

for my blog.

i'm thinking about adding a music-player too,

so we'll see how that works out.

but anywho, after many class changes

and just as many brain farts when it came to trying to remember

how to get around school...

i have the PERFECT schedule!

it's REALLY weird though...

i'm SOO used to honor classes

cause i've been taking them since 6th grade.

but now, not only are all of my classes WONDERFUL...

...but my lunch period's wonderful,

my classmates are cool,

my locker's in the perfect location for ALL of my classes,

i have SO much free time during passing periods

due to all my classes being on literally only one half of the school...

i felt so weird-like something was missing...

...to the max, haha!

but yeah, everything's perfect (SOOO weird to say that!).

and i saw several people w/new tats and piercings for the year!

ugh, oh boy was i jealous!!

can't WAIT until my day comes!

meanwhile, i'm having fun w/my classes.

they're all electives except economics and english AP/IB Lit.&Comp.

so i have:

photoshop (LOVE it, especially the fact that it DIDN'T cost $800 like photoshop usually can!),

beginning jewelry (we will be making jewelry-cool!),

orchestra-SUPER small class this year! love it though

Japanese-sweetest teacher EVER, haha her happiness is SO contagious!

some "emo" girl said to her friend, "i'm happy...you can't help but to be happy in her class!"

i'm just UBER pissed that mom wouldn't let me take it ASAP,

because i'm really loving that class

cause i love that culture.

i'm definitely continuing after highschool...

umm, let's see:

study hall w/my freshman English X techer and cool kids

awesom lunch as said before...

i think that's it.

but school is soooo easy and fun now!

i know, that should be unlawful,

school should be depressing...

but it's actually amazing in my edge of the woods!

which means i'll be super-busy w/school stuff!

Yay! I Might be Getting a Bod Mod Afterall!

i have permission to get a tattoo!

my mom seems MUCH cooler with it than

another piercing

(gonna have to work on that later).

i know, you're probably saying, "why doesn't she just sneak and get it done??

...or do the piercing herself?"

well, because one, i COULD NOT pierce myself knowing when the pain will come

two, i like me my sanitary studio with its minimal pain luxuries.

and three, i don't have a car to sneak up there in and NO sense of direction

sooo....yeeeah...haha!

anywho, my mom was cool w/a tattoo and said a-okay for one

she said on my foot, were thinking of places (aka-body parts) now!

and i think i know what i'm gonna get, i'm not sure. i gave my mom a head's up on the fact that it's more expensive and permanent (duh) than a piercing, but she said okay, sooo...

cool, gotta think (again) long term on this and my future so...

here goes nothing! i'm toooo hyped though!
